  • School Hall "Buy a Brick"!!

    Published 27/11/20

We are extending our school hall, and the work started on the 3rd August, 2019. Our target is to raise £150,000, and our current balance stands at £93,439. We are delighted to let you know we continue with our ‘buy a brick’ at the cost of £50 per brick, where each brick has two lines, and each line consists of 16 characters including spaces. The brick can have your name inscribed or indeed words of wisdom for the current and new pupils that will continue their education through Cardinal Newman. We will then be creating a display board on which all bricks will be on display for all to view. This opportunity is open to both current and past families of Cardinal Newman. If you would like to make a donation or purchase bricks, please contact TinaO’Kelly, Forms can be emailed directly to Tina, and she can provide you with the Governor's account bank detail to make direct payments. We have attached a form here. Thank you for your continued support.

  • Wintershall Nativity!!

    Published 24/11/20

Wintershall Nativity – yes, Mary and a donkey on the school field!  Wed 16th and Thurs 17th Dec

In a year when there are so many things we CAN’T do, we wanted to make space for one of the best things to come out of the pandemic!  We hope you will be enthused by the opportunity for the children to do something a little bit different – in a good way! – this year.

The amazing Wintershall Live Nativity has been persuaded to go on tour and we were the very first school to invite them to come to us!  If you haven’t heard of them before, their website is here:

All of our children will experience a live Nativity workshop – not only Mary and Joseph and a live baby, but also a real donkey and shepherds with their real sheep!   It is difficult to describe the impact of this very special story-telling but we are confident this is something all of our children will remember for a very long time.  After all, how often do you see a donkey on the school football pitch?!

There is obviously a cost to bringing the whole Nativity scene to Hersham and we would like to ask families if they can to please contribute £5 per child or £10 per family. Extra contribution’s would be gratefully received.  In your scopay account, you can enter any amount you wish in the "enter paymount amount" box. These contributions will enable us to give the children this fantastic experience.  School will meet the cost for families who are Pupil Premium and anyone who is worried about the cost should speak to Mrs Burnham who will find a way to support.

    Published 23/11/20

If your child tests positive over a weekend, please email and copy in the school office email  This is so that others who may need to self-isolate can be contacted as early as possible.

A positive test for another member of your family (e.g. positive test for a parent) can be notified to the school office in the usual way on a Monday morning, as this will not have any impact on the wider running of the school.
