Y5 Viking Day
Year 5 Viking Day was an unforgettable experience, packed with hands-on learning, creativity, and plenty of excitement. Our visit from Chertsey Museum brought history to life as the children explored fascinating Viking artefacts and discovered what daily life was like over a thousand years ago.
The children carefully designed and painted their own Viking shields, thinking about patterns, colours, and symbols that would represent a true warrior. The results were fantastic—bold, imaginative, and full of personality.
Adding to the atmosphere, everyone came dressed in their finest Viking costumes. From fierce warriors to powerful chieftains, the effort put into the outfits was incredible and really helped immerse the children in the experience. It was wonderful to see their enthusiasm and pride as they fully embraced the theme.
The day was not only fun but also highly educational, giving the children a deeper understanding of Viking life in a memorable and engaging way. A huge well done to Year 5 for their enthusiasm and engagement.
